Personality: Marigold is typically seen as being a happy, energetic young girl, always seen with a smile on her face. She is very bright, both socially and academically, and can usually turn anyone's sour mood around with enough time. She can be a bit hyperactive or overly-enthusiastic at times, and is also quite clumsy, often tripping over the tails of her coat or over nothing at all. She has a slight wild side, enjoying small "party-like" gatherings of people she knows well, and does have a habit of being very loud in a general term. She has interests in almost every niche social cliche, making her very much a people person. She enjoys video games and sports, reading and math, Heavy, dark Gothic music and club electronic sounds. She is the kind of person that is just generally easy to be around, and pleasant to speak to.

Appearance: Marigold is a very petite, very thin built girl. Standing at 4' 9" and weighing 79lbs. Her skin is pale colored, but of a more tan complexion, and her eyes are a bright sun-colored yellow, with small fiery wisps of orange near the edges of her iris. Her face, while still very young-looking, has a very serene beauty, naturally calm-looking, with larger eyes, dark lashes, and higher set, thin eyebrows. She wears her bright blonde hair cropped into a bob cut which hangs about her face in the front and spikes out near the back in the back. In a few spots, her hair naturally darkens in wisps and patches, giving her hair a natural highlighted look. She usually has her nails painted a bright yellow to match with her hair and eyes. On her left collarbone is a small scar from an accident had when she was playing with one of her father's scalpels when she was younger.

Bio: Marigold is a quiet girl from a fishing village a good distance down up the coast from Vale, about 250 miles away. She grew up with a basic education, learning about medical care from her retired father, and her mother, who was previously enlisted in the hunter corps. The woman was called away on a mission when Mari was five years old, and never returned from it, leaving her without a strong female role model to rely on, and with there being a distinct lack of girls her own age in the village, the young one became rather introverted, delving into her studies and learning healthcare from her father. The two lived alone on his retirement and the Hunter Corps compensation for the death of the mother. Until the age of nine, the girl was regarded as "the weird tiny girl that lived with the creepy old doctor," by the rest of the children in the village, and her image was worsened soon after.

On a very dark and cloudy night, her father returned home from his walk toting what looked like a red headed faunus girl corpse over his left shoulder, shouting at her to open the door to the guest room. After immediately doing as she was asked, she watched as her father carried this girl in, bloodied and dirty, reeking of years of filth and stinking of death. But she was still breathing. The sight almost made Mari sick. This girl had a HOLE in her head. She was feverish, blood still seeped from every wound on her body, and yet she still fought to live. It was like seeing an animal with no chance left in the world.

But her father refused to give up as well, and she helped him tirelessly over the next thirteen days to care and tend for the girl. She watched as he performed impromptu surgery on her to put plated in her skull to fix the damage from a bullet, helped pull other bullets from wounds on her body. She washed the girl, forced food and drink down her barely-conscious throat.

And finally, on the fourteenth day, the unknown girl spoke to her as she was wiping down her forehead. It was a simple word. "Water." But it brought tears to Mari's eyes. She ran to retrieve her father, who spent the entire night in the room with said girl afterwards.

By the next morning, the girl had insisted on getting up and moving around. She had taken to calling herself Maria, and had been encouraged by Mari's father to take up their family name. She was distant, angry, and had all the mannerisms and hostilities of an abused cat. She was defensive, violent, and, all around scary. But, after some explaining from her father, Mari contented herself to stay away from Maria. But her decision was changed soon after. A few boys had begun bullying her during a trip into market, claiming that she had vanished for the last few days because her creepy father was doing experiments on her. They shoved her to the ground, and she begun to cry. She barely had time to blink after their laughs cut off, as flashes of red flitted about in front of her, as the feline girl used very acrobatic fighting moves to dominate the three more muscular boys in combat, sending them running off crying.

From then on, the girls were more like sisters than ever before. Mari idolized Maria with her very core, and even more after hearing of her past. She respected how strong the older girl must have been to go through all that and still come out as she did. She loved her like family, and eventually, Maria began to show signs of, not loving, but caring for Marigold. Despite her father's objections that she could not do so, and was merely acting, it made the girl feel better about being around the older girl. When she went off to Signal, she wrote her every week, and visited whenever possible. And when she went to Beacon, and designed a new coat, Mari begged to inherit her old one, despite being too small to fit it.

After Maria left, the girl began searching for ways she could get closer to her adoptive sister again. She found an apprenticeship program where she could learn under a healthcare assistant, using the knowledge she had gained from her father, but the minimum age was fifteen years old, and she couldn't apply for another two years. The poor girl worked harder than ever, while still keeping ties with her new family, and after two years, was accepted into the program. She would stay in small boarding house the program offered, unless other arrangements were made, and learn daily under a nurse who worked in the Vale hospital until the age of eighteen.

Now, only a single day after Maria had left from her visit to go back to Beacon academy, Marigold boards a flight to Vale, intent on surprising her with news that she would still be living close. Ridden with tears as she leaves her father and hometown behind, she flies now to The City of Vale to begin her new life.


Attire: Mari's most iconic piece of clothing that she wears is a white long coat that reaches down to her ankles, dusty around the two tails of it. The interior lining is a dark grey fleece, and there is a loose hood with two coves for feline type ears to fit into. The sleeves of the coat have been cut and hemmed down to reach down to her forearms, showing her usual yellow long sleeved shirt down to her wrist. On her legs she usually wears a pair of black shorts that reach her mid thigh, with zippers lining the pockets, and a yellow cloth belt, along with black boots she also inherited from Maria. She also owns a set of light teal scrubs and a white lab coat her father ordered for her as a departure present.

Fighting style: Though she has never had any formal training with weapons, Mari has been shown how to use a gun, and how to fight basically with a small blade by Maria, purely for self defense purposes. As such, in any scrape she would get into, she would focus on using the enemy's size to her advantage, using her small frame to weave about in easy dodges and quick strikes, while looking for openings to run from the encounter. She holds no signature weapon, but does own a gifted dagger from Maria.

Weapon Description: The single dagger that Marigold owns is made using Signal Academy resources, and thus has a very striking resemblance to something a combat student would use. It is a rather simple weapon. The handle is made of steel with coiled grooves for grip, stained a deep red color. On the pommel is a ball point with the engraving M.G on it. The blade curves ever so slightly to the right near the tip, a manufacturing flaw by the student that made it. The blade is an inch and a half thick right above the handle, which it is separated from by a simple, three inch long piece of steel. The blade also measures a good six inches long.

Strengths and Weaknesses: Marigold has demonstrated remarkable aptitude in medical studies, as well as other biological sciences. Her Reading, Writing, and Language skills are also commendable, however, her abilities in mathematics and logical reasoning suffer slightly because of these alleged "book smarts." She is also Anemic and a Hemophiliac, Both of these disorders inherited from her mother and father respectively, making any wound at all a very serious one.

This character rather intrigues me... I'll be watching to see what you do with her ^_^
I do think that, even though she isn't really a combatant character, she ought to have strengths and weaknesses.
