Roy will often use his name and prestige to get what he wants. Girls, special consideration, and respect. On top of that, he has the money to back it up. He loves to party and have a good time, and will often deflect personal attacks or jabs by just shrugging them off and smiling with a cocky grin. He likes to goad people into anger, knowing that there will be consequences if anything is done to him.

Greedy, opportunistic, lewd.

Roy, behaves similarly to a Machiavelli villain. He plots to further himself, holds grudges, and is only loyal insofar as it will benefit him. He fights for the winning team, and will jump ship if things start looking grim.

Sporting a long blonde crew cut, Roy stands an even six feet tall, weighing in just short of 13 stone. His casual-wear consists of a brown coat, tunic, pants, and boots with a red sash around his waist. Emblazoned on the back of his coat is the House Martel crest. All of his clothing, except the sash, are made from surprisingly normal quality, despite his wealth. Roy, due to his elevated body temperature tends to wear out his clothing much faster than normal and often needs to change to a new wardrobe. After a while, he has found an outfit that both looks showy enough, but is practical enough for his needs.

Although Roy appears lean, his appearance belies his true nature. Both his bones tissue and muscle fibers are lighter and tougher than the average human's. In essence, this allows him to move swiftly while possessing the strength of someone twice his weight.

Though his muscles and bones are made from tougher materials, his skin is not. Because of this quirk of Roy, he is prone to (by his own strength) bruise, tear, and even flat-out wear away his skin. Additionally, because his bones and muscle fibers are much more complex, they take twice as long to heal when they do break. This extends to the healing effect of aura. Aura healing is gravely diminished and ultimately impractical for Roy. Rest is the best way for Roy to recover if moderately-severely harmed.

Further, his natural body temperature is roughly 8 degrees (Fahrenheit) higher than the average human's due to the increased energy output of literally every fiber of his being.

Bio: Roy comes from the Martel estate; a wealthy plutocratic family. He is the only son of the main household. Roy, while naturally talented and given the best education money could buy, is essentially a prodigal son. He would rather flirt, gamble, drink, and be merry than do any real work. But because most of the work he's given comes easy to him, he simply gets it done to appease his father.

Roy is ambitious and plans to take over his house, but is comfortable waiting in luxury until that time comes. He will, however, not pause at any given opportunity for himself to cease more power or advantage.

Until his enrollment at Beacon, he had never been schooled in a communal style; he would have a plethora of tutors and experts for mentors.

He had two reasons for attending Beacon. He saw the political advantages of forming connections with the future hunters and huntresses of his generation. For someone with great ambition, he requires respect from his peers. The other reason being, that he was running out of opponents that he could fight for fun. Grimm presented this sort of challenge for him, as he would previously fight in underground matches in the late hours of the night in his early teenage years.

He sees other heirs/heiresses to other wealthy and powerful families as both competition and opportunity. If he can use them, he will, but if he canʻt, heʻll make them his enemy and do whatever he can to take them out of the running. Royʻs goal is to make it to the top, and controlling Vale is the first big step for that to happen.

Royʻs ambitious nature was nurtured from a very young age. Being the heir to the Martel bloodline, his tutors and mentors drilled into him, the idea that only those with power get their way. This was driven home when, at the age of 10, after Roy had learned basic combat, his newly assigned mentor, Eri Martel, continuously beat and humiliated Roy. Eri would taunt him, kick him while he was down, hoping to not only toughen him up, but teach him the value of power. Eri had been born into a lower family in the Martel line and was known to be one of the houseʻs strongest warriors.

Roy endured this brutal training for 5 years until he had commissioned Joyeuse to be made. Approaching the final day of his training with Eri, Roy prepared for the final test. Roy, from the first day of training with Eri had wanted to kill him. And this final test would give him the chance to finally do it. Armed with his newly crafted Joyeuse, Roy stepped into the houseʻs arena to face Eri. She drew her own personal weapons, twin master-crafted short swords; possessing ice and fire attributes, respectively.

The final test ended in a lengthy draw. Roy had sustained several cuts and broke several bones in both his right arm and leg, while Eri had broken one of her swords and had broken 4 sets of ribs. The two were exhausted, but the match was called to a close by Royʻs father. Roy had passed the test, and Eri, before making her way out of the arena shot Roy a grin, as if to say ʻYou got luckyʻ.

Roy never forgot that look on her face, and to this day he still wants to kill Eri by his own hand.

Equipment and Battle Info

Battle attire: He wears a coat with the Emblem of House Martel embroidered upon his back, with matching boots and brown pants. He also wears a red sash around his waist.

Fighting style: Roy is a duelist. He uses quick movements and dive-in-and-out maneuvers to combat his foe. He's a brawler when it comes to fist fights, but he'd rather have have his weapon bloody an opponent than break his own limbs throwing punches and kicks.

Joyeuse

Joyeuse is a one-of-a-kind Aura-Blade made by the esteemed inventor Rudolf Steinmetz. The frame that is its hilt is made up of smelted titanium and Grimmplate. It is resistant to heat and has a light, yet tough structure. Within the core, extending out the top is an apparatus that creates the light-like blade and hilt-guard. The blade extends out 50cm and has the appearance of a long sword; the same length and width. This light that appears is actually incredibly dense and therefore, deceptively heavy, weighing 25kg (~55lb).

The blade of light projects out in a diamond shape that tapers out to a syringe-like tip, but is not exactly sharp, so to speak. The two narrower apexes of the blade come to a wider edge (cut at about a 35 degree angle). It will cut, but it takes a more precise strike and faster acceleration to do a similar job as a normal blade.

It utilizes composite crystals made from natural minerals and refined dust for the base reaction. The engine that creates it also uses diamond dust to create the solid-nature of the blade. This chemical rapid and consistent chemical reaction causes the blade material to have a touch-temperature of 180 degrees (Celsius).

It was only after many extensive and expensive trials that Joyeuse reached this stage of development. If

Weapon Abilities: Normally, the sword would be impractical to wield due to its weight and natural heat emission. But in Roy's hands, the weapon is right at home. He is able to wield Joyeuse like a normal long-sword, but with a significant amount more weight behind his blows.

Family:
House Martel
House Martel is a wealthy family in Vale. Their wealth is from generations of royalty and they control the a significant sector of the import/export trade in precious metals and fine wines.


Arthur Martel

Arthur is Royʻs father. He is the head of House Martel and commanded his own squad when he was a huntsman. After his father died from mysterious causes, he became the head of the family at the age of 26. He and Eri share a deep bond.


Eri Martel

Eri is Royʻs cousin and considered one of the best warriors of House Martel. Born into a lower family of the house, Eri was Royʻs main combat tutor from the time Roy was 10 until he was 15. She was perhaps the most influential teach Roy had ever had. Roy even utilizes a similar fighting style. Eriʻs official position is as an envoy for house Martel. At this post she is expected to negotiate and carry out private tasks given by the head of the Martel family, Royʻs father. She is essentially his right-hand and would gladly give her life if he commanded. Almost the antithesis to Roy, Eri is hard working and not particularly ambitious. She is a dutiful soldier in many regards.

As far as I can see, Roy's pretty well though out.

I'd like more detail in the bio, though.
Also, I'm assuming Roy is still to be a Beacon student?

His bio was actually a lot longer, but I cut out all the non-essential parts. As it was, I was just repeating a lot of what was already in other sections of the profile. Didn't want whoever reads Roy to get bored.
